We passed the Democracy for the People act, restoring the right vote for over 55K Minnesotans, and protected (and expanded!) the ways we get to shape our communities and our futures together.

Care & Education
We've put more funding and support into our childcare system so more families have access to affordable care and educators are better paid for their skills and labor.

Raised Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) reimbursement rates to the 75th percentile (up from the 25th percentile)

For All
Restoring access to driver’s licenses regardless of immigration status

Housing
We all deserve a home no matter the color of our skin, the size of our family or how much money we've got in our pockets. And new funding passed this session will make and keep more Minnesotans housed and safe.

Healthcare Access
& Affordability
Establishing a Prescription Drug Affordability Board and now MinnesotaCare is a Public Option, including undocumented children and adults!

Public Safety
We've made our state and communities safer AND honored people's dignity by banning private prisons, passing gun safety laws, and built stronger oversight of police accountability and practices.

Rehabilitation & Reinvestment Act - creating incentives for early release and reducing recidivism
Expanding civilian oversight of police
Connecting families - making phone calls free for incarcerated persons

$70 million in one-time funds spread over five years for community crime and violence prevention grants for things like victim services, prison re-entry, homelessness assistance, restorative justice, violence interruption and juvenile diversion.
$10 million to improve the training and availability of non-police crisis response teams.
Cap probation at 5 years, retroactive
Expanding MN Sentencing Guidelines Commission to better reflect community and best practices
Gross misdemeanor maximum sentence 364 days (instead of 365 which became an impediment for some immigrants seeking naturalization because of federal law)

Worker
Protections
Statewide Earned Sick & Safe Time, where employers must offer 6 days of paid sick leave per year. Minnesotans also won warehouse worker safety, meatpacker worker safety, and a Nursing Home Workplace Standards Board.

Tax
Fairness
We blocked a full tax cut for the wealthiest retirees and passed the best Child Tax Credit in the Country, which will cut childhood poverty by 1/3.
