Who is ISAIAH?

ISAIAH is a multi-faith, multi-racial, state-wide and nonpartisan community organizing coalition in Minnesota working toward a multiracial democracy and a caring economy. Our 200 member and partner congregations and mosques, 512 small and family owned childcare centers with Kids Count on Us, college students and people between 18-40 with the Young Adult Coalition, Rural Organizing Project of greater Minnesotans, and the coalition of black owned barbershops called Barbershops Creating Change in the Community, create racial and economically equitable communities through intentional, intensive leadership development; collective, faith-based actions; and deep partnerships with grassroots organizations and public servants.

How to become a Member.

Any faith institution can become a member by paying annual dues and developing a leadership team to coordinate the congregation's participation in the activities of ISAIAH. The membership dues are negotiated individually with each congregation based on their annual budget.

What it means to be an ISAIAH Member.

As a member of ISAIAH, a faith institution benefits from the support of organizing staff, access to leadership development and training programs, and involvement in the agenda and issues of ISAIAH. ISAIAH is a vehicle for its member institutions to co-create and implement the agenda and programs of the organization, which are rooted in the needs and interests of their communities and families. ISAIAH invests its resources in strengthening, empowering, and amplifying the voices of its members, allowing people of faith to have a significant impact on public decisions.

ISAIAH is an organizing organization, not an advocacy organization. This means that the leaders and spokespeople for any agenda, campaign, or public initiative are those who belong to member institutions. ISAIAH provides strategic, communications, policy, and lobbying support to make those voices as effective as possible. In return, ISAIAH expects all its members to engage in the collective power of the whole organization. When ISAIAH acts with one unified voice, it can influence state-wide policy, affect state and federal decision-makers, and represent the collective voice and interest of the faith community. Therefore, ISAIAH needs its members to collaborate on state-wide campaigns and strategies that reflect their shared vision and values.
